Abstract (EN)

The COVID-19 (corona virus), which emerged in Wuhan, China and then spread all over the world and was declared a Pandemic by the World Health Organization, has also affected many sectors in our country. The epidemic continued its spread by affecting the economic, social and cultural areas. The COVID-19 (corona virus) epidemic, which affected Turkey and the whole world in a short time and caused serious health risks, also affected the banking sector. The Turkish banking sector, which is one of the most important theories regarding the healthy functioning of the financial system, has taken the necessary measures as soon as possible in order to protect itself from the negative effects of the epidemic and to perform banking transactions safely. In addition, the Turkish banking system quickly created a stronger and more sustainable technical infrastructure without wasting time during this challenging period. In this study, the risk situations of the Turkish banking sector in the coronavirus process, as well as the measures needed for blood supply to the active areas of the financial system, support packages and changing service targets are discussed. The study evaluated the situation of the Turkish banking sector against the Pandemic with the SWOT analysis method.
