Abstract (EN)
Media is not anymore just a vehicle to transfer information between two or more parties. Media, and especially news media, have significant role in formulating and directing internal public opinion to serve external policy goals. Besides, currently, media is considered an important pillar of a given country's soft power and its public diplomacy. This thesis seeks to examine the above-mentioned issues within the framework of American war in Iraq in 2003. It concluded that the media contributed to the promotion and marketing of the war and was able to convince the American people of the need to invade Iraq.
