Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of MK-801 on oxidative stress, inflammation and ghrelin levels in brain tissue in convulsions that were administered to scopolamine after fasting for 48 hours. In this study, 36 male, 25-30g weight Balb/c white adult mice were used .Mice were randomly selected and diveded into 6 groups. Group 1: Fasting animals for 48 hours were injected i.p SF. Group 2: Fasting animals for 48 hours were injected i.p 3mg/kg scopolamine. Group 3: Fasting animals for 48 hours i.p. SF injection followed immediately by i.p. 0.17 mg / kg MK-801 was injected. Group 4: Fasting animals for 48 hours i.p. SF injection followed immediately by i.p. 0.51 mg / kg MK-801 was injected. Group 5: Fasting animals for 48 hours i.p. Skop injection followed immediately by i.p. 0.17 mg / kg MK-801 was injected. Group 6: Fasting animals for 48 hours i.p. Skop injection followed immediately by i.p. 0.51 mg / kg MK-801 was injected. All groups were fed 20 minutes after injection. Malondialdehyde (MDA), nitric oxide (NO), prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), reduced glutathione (GSH) and protein carbonyl (PCO) levels, superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase, glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), paraoxonase (GSH-Px) PON) and aryl esterase (ARE) activities were evaluated in brain tissues. In addition, total ghrelin levels were determined in plasma and tissue samples collected from animals. As a result of the study, MK-801 suppressed convulsions, increased SOD and CAT activities, GSH-Px, PON and ARE activities MDA and GSH levels did not change, NO, PGE2 and PCO levels decreased in brain tissue, and increased tissue and serum GHR levels.
