Investigation of the Effect of Combined Exercise Program Applied to Emergency Service Workers on Pain, Depression, Sleep Quality and Physical Activity Level. Hasan Kalyoncu University. Our study was carried out to investigate the effect of combined exercise program applied to emergency service workers on pain, depression, sleep quality and physical activity. 62 individuals working in the Emergency Service Unit of Tosya State Hospital between October and December 2020 were included. After the individuals were divided into two as the control group (n=29) and the training group (n=25) by simple random closed-envelope method, 8 weeks of combined exercise training was given to the training group, while no additional exercise was given to the control group other than daily physical activities for 8 weeks. The training was given by a physiotherapist for 8 weeks, for 45 minutes a day, in groups of 4-5 people, 3 days a week. During the 8-week period, the step counts of both groups were followed with a pedometer. In the training group, an increase was found in Beck depression scale score, Mc Gill Pain scale sensory, affective, total and VAS scores, and weekly step count increased in the number of steps between the 2nd week and the 1st week, 6th week and 5th week (p<0.05). There was no change in the Pittsburg Sleep Quality scale score, physical activity intensity and weekly step count in the training group (p>0.05). In the control group, an increase was obtained in the total and sensory scores of the Mc Gill Pain Scale (p<0.05). In the control group, no change was found in Beck depression scale score, Mc Gill Pain scale affective, total and VAS scores, Pittsburg Sleep Quality scale score, physical activity intensity and weekly step count (p>0.05). After the combined exercise training, a difference was observed in favor of the training group when the groups were compared in terms of depression level, pain, sleep quality and physical activity level, and weekly step numbers. As a result, it was concluded that combined exercise training programs were effective on depression, pain, sleep quality and physical activity in emergency service workers.
