Dream memory dream relationship in Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar's novels and stories

In this study, the relationship between imagination, memory and dreams in Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar's novels and stories is discussed through the worlds of the characters. The aim of the study is to examine the concepts of imagination, memory and dream, which constitute Tanpınar's literary thought, in the context of the relationship between literature and philosophy. In his novels and stories, these concepts are intertwined and presented in connection with each other. Attention is drawn to how Tanpınar built his universe of thought and aesthetic understanding through these concepts. We see the depth perception he gives to his works with the concepts of imagination, memory and dreams on the characters. It makes you experience this depth by providing a transition from remembering to imagination, from imagination to dream. In a way, he creates a dream world for the characters and makes them live in that world, freeing them to be as they want to be in their memories. Even though the situations change, it suddenly creates a completely different world for its heroes. In this context, the relationship between these three elements surrounding Tanpınar's philosophy, novels and stories will be emphasized.
