Abstract (EN)

One of the most successful novel writers of the recent period, Ahmet Ümit, has expressed his feelings and thoughts in many areas such as novels, stories, poems, stories, fairy tales and essays. In his works, he mentioned social and political life as well as mythological and religious elements. Ümit's "Patasana" is the most intense in terms of mythological phenomena. The aim of this study is to determine the mythological phenomena of Ahmet Ümit in Patasana novel. Author's life, identity; Summary of novel, mythological elements in novel. The study area of the thesis is limited to the personal and social trauma effects of 1915 events in Turkey in the fictional twenty-eight tablets and external fictional lattice in Ahmet Ümit's Patasana novel. In this study, especially the gods, people, and mythological phenomena discussed together with the plot were mentioned. In the novel, during the processing of the plot, tablets of Gilgamesh epic were mentioned. For this reason, it was necessary to compare the novel of Patasana with Gilgamesh Epic. Thus, both the similarities and differences, the true value of the mythological elements in the novel Patasana was put forward. Work; Introduction, myth and mythology, the life, art and works of the author Ahmet Ümit, general information about the novel Patasana, mythology, results and evaluation section in the novel. Patasana novel was searched and literature, literature, magazine, articles, newspapers were used. In addition, psychoanalytic theory was used in character analysis as well as comparison method. Patasana consists of twenty-eight intertwined sections. In these sections, there are twenty-eight Hittite tablets written by Patasan and the gods, people, events and mythological x elements were mentioned. Patasana has two different plots. One is about four murders during the excavations in the Ancient City near Gaziantep, the other is about the life, confessions and collapse of the Hittite Empire. Ümit gives information about the gods of the Hatti country on the tablets through Patasana. While giving this information, the formation of events around mythological phenomena reveals Ümit's knowledge and culture on these subjects. As the tablets of the Gilgamesh epic were found during the excavations, the similarities between the Patasana novel and the Gilgamesh Epic were compared. Based on the theoretical knowledge of the mythological elements in the novel, how the author Ahmet Ümit benefited from it and how it relates to the text in the novels was examined. Mythology as a concept, myths, the birth of myths, classification of myths, rituals of the gods, and the elements of these elements in the novel and how they were handled. Literary theories have been taken as basis in the realization of this study. As a concept: mythology, myths, the birth of myths, the classification of myths, rites of gods and their correspondence and processing of these phenomena were also paid attention.
