Abstract (EN)

Pain is a complex multidisciplinary experience that can begin anywhere in the body, signaling actual or potential tissue damage. WHO stated that low back pain is a common disease seen in all age groups and requires referral to medical services. It is seen that the lifetime prevalence of LBP varies between 59-80%. The lifetime prevalence of LBP is over 70% in developing countries. In our study, the prevalence of LBP adults who applied to Family Medicine Outpatient Clinic were investigated. In addition to the questionnaire prepared for the participants, the ODI scale was applied. Between 01.05.2022 and 01.10.2022, a total of 299 people, 108 men and 191 women, aged 18-65 years, applied to the polyclinic for any reason. In our study, the prevalence of LBP was found to be 78.6%. The mean age of those who had one or more LBP complaints throughout their life was 38.57±11.54. Prevalence of LBP; It was found to be 84.8% (n=162) in women and 67.6% (n=73) in men. While the mean ODI score was 23.09±16.91 in females, it was 17.3±15.61 in males. A positive relationship was found between the total score of the ODI score and the BMI values. We think that the frequency of LBP can be significantly reduced in the treatment of LBP, which affects the individual and the society negatively, both psychosocially and economically, by determining the risk factors, taking the necessary protective measures for the risk factors before LBP occurs or acute LBP becomes chronic, and informing individuals about the current risks.
