Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to examine the health outcomes and leisure time satisfaction levels perceived by university academics in recreation. A total of 343 volunteer academicians working at Necmettin Erbakan University participated in the study using appropriate sampling method. In the study, data were collected using face-to-face and online survey techniques. The sociodemographic data form determined in line with the purpose of the research, the Perceived Health Outcomes in Recreation Scale (RASÇÖ) and the Leisure Time Satisfaction Scale (SZDS) were applied to the individuals. As a result of the controls of the analyses, when the skewness and kurtosis values of the RASÇS and SZDS sub-dimensions were checked, it was revealed that they were suitable for normal distribution and parametric tests were used. T-test, One Way Anova test and correlation analysis methods were used for statistical analysis of the data. According to the findings of the research; Perceived Health Outcomes in Recreation scale sub-dimensions include age, faculty, welfare levels, weekly free time, difficulty in spending free time, participation in physical activities, how often they do physical activity per week, adequacy of recreational areas on the university campus, utilization of university recreational areas. While a significant difference was detected according to the variables of recreational area adequacy of the province and the frequency of recreational area use of the province, no significant difference was detected according to the gender, marital status and title variables of the individuals. The sub-dimensions of the leisure time satisfaction scale include gender, marital status, faculty, welfare level, weekly free time, difficulty in spending free time, participation in physical activities, how often they do physical activity per week, adequacy of recreational areas on the university campus, the number of recreational areas in the university. While a significant difference was detected according to the variables of utilization status, recreational area adequacy of the province and the frequency of recreational area use of the province, no significant difference was detected according to the age and title variables of the individuals. As a result, it has been determined that as the age of academicians increases, their welfare level increases, their free time duration increases, and their participation in weekly physical activity becomes regular, the health outcomes perceived in recreation become meaningful. It has also been found that female and single academics have aesthetic concerns while participating in leisure activities. It has been determined that as the amount of free time increases and the level of participation in physical activities becomes regular, the level of leisure satisfaction increases. It was determined that the perceived health outcomes in recreation scale and the sub-dimensions of the leisure satisfaction scale had a low but positive relationship with each other. Key Words: Leisure Time, Recreation, Recreational Activity, Perceived Health Outcomes in Recreation, Leisure Time Satisfaction
