Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to reveal the effect of environmental factors in the distribution of some wild mammals in the region of Akdağ (Simav). For this purpose, an inventory study was carried out on approximately 40,000 ha of field between Kütahya-Simav and Balıkesir-Dursunbey. As a result of the inventory in the region of Akdağ, sign, faces and tracks of 9 different wild mammals were detected in a total of 722 points. Then, data belonging to wild mammals have been recorded in inventory card. Baseline maps of environmental variables were created using ArcGIS software. As a result of the study, the relationship of some wild mammals with environmental factors was determined, it was belong to Traces, faces and signs a sufficient number in terms of statistical factors that Wild boar (Sus scrofa), European hare (Lepus europaeus), Red fox (Vulpes vulpes), Roe deer (Capreolus capreolus), Beech marten (Martes foina) and Golden jackal (Canis aureus). As a method in the study; Five different methods are used which Maximum Entropy (MaxEnt), Generalized Linear Models (GDM), Generalized Boosted Models (GBM), Surface Range Envelop (SRE) and Random Forest (RF). For this purpose, Correlation and Factor analysis were applied to eliminate the multiple connection problem between the independent variables. Data on wild mammals species and environmental variables were analyzed in MaxEnt and R programs. According to the results of the analysis, ROC Test data values belonging to each species and the variables that contributed the most to the model were recorded. Best ROC Test data values based on analysis results; While The Random Forest method for Red fox (0.974), European hare (0.968), Roe deer (0.909) and Wild boar (0.846), has been the Generalized Linear Models for Golden jackal (0.956) and Beech marten (0.888). As a result of different statistical methods applied, the environmental variables that are effective in the distribution of these wild mammals; altitude, bio4, slope, roughness, si, tci, 8am, tpi, sri, ri, bui, vegetation and lpi was determined as.
