Abstract (EN)

The fundamental way of worship in Alevism is cem. In cems, one of the most significant types of poetry is duazimams, which are recited to venerate the Twelver Imams and historical anectodes and written in syllabic ana aruz meters. Duazimams have an essential role in the trasmission of Alevi culture among generations. İn the religious literature, duazimams are referred as düvaz, düvazimam, düvaz-ı imam, düvazdeh, düvazdeh imam. Since duazimams have not been researched sufficiently to this day, this thesis will analyze the place and meaning of duazimams within the cem by drawing upon the cems of Shah Ibrahim Veli Ocagi.
