Abstract (EN)

Alpha Generation Children's Internet, Digital Game Addiction and Parenteral Interaction The research was carried out for investigate the internet digital game addiction and parental interaction of Alpha generation children in a descriptive research design for 6 primary and secondary schools with 1400 children and 800 parents. The data were collected with the Child Data Total Form, Parent Data Total Form, Internet Addiction Scale for Adolescents (IAS), and Digital Game Addiction Scale for Children (DSAS). Number, percentage, mean, median, Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal-Wallis, Dunn-Bonferroni test, Spearman correlation and Linear Regression Analysis were used in the evaluation. The significance level was accepted as p<0.05. 51.8% of Alpha Generation children are girls, 67.8% of parents are digital natives. The majority of children have a tool with a constant internet connection, and 26.9%had their first technological device before the age of 9. The majority of children and parents access the internet for 120 minutes or more every day, children access the internet for doing homework, parents access the internet in order to research on any subject, and 82.1% of children and 23.9% of parents play digital games. The rates of children's and their parents' responses for knowing the devices that are accessed to the internet and the purpose of accessing the internet are similar. It was determined that the average IAS score of the children was 18.0 (14.0-23.0), the average DSAS score was 412.0 (9.0-17.0) and there was a positive, moderate relationship between the scale scores. Children's IAS and DSAS scores and the increasing in children's age and the number of their own internet-connected tools and the decreasing in the age of owning their first technological device, increase in the duration and frequency of daily use of the internet, playing digital games, using the internet to access social media, using it for chatting, using for playing games, and the parent's knowledge of the child's purpose of accessing the internet and the digital games that are played makes the scores of IAS and DSAS reduce significantly (p<0.05). Regardless of whether the parent is a digital immigrant or a native, the using of the internet and the controlling of the digital games that are played, the increasing in the frequency of control, and the fact that he/she are not allowed for playing if it is not appropriate for his/her age reduce the IAS and DSAS scores significantly (p<0.05). Alpha Generation children have a parallel relationship between internet and game addiction, and parental control can be said that it is an important factor in reducing internet and game addiction. Keywords: Alpha Generation, child, digital game addiction, parent, interaction internet addiction.
