The science of occasions is one of the sciences of the Holy Qur'an. It is concerned with the study of the interrelationship between verses and chapters, and helps in good interpretation and understanding of God's will. This study revolves around the impact of the science of events in the interpretation of Al-Alusi, and uses Surat Al-An'am as a model for the application of this science. The study was divided into main topics. The first topic dealt with the life and upbringing of Imam Al-Alusi, his scholarly stature and his writings. The second topic defined the book of Al-Alusi, the spirit of meanings and its sources on which it relied, and its place among other books of interpretation, while the third topic included the definition of the science of events, its emergence, its importance, the concepts related to it, as well as the most important scholars and scholars in it. This topic also reviewed the types of occasions in the Holy Qur'an, Al-Alusi's approach to events and its contributions, as well as the impact of the science of events on its interpretation. As for the other topics of this study, it dealt with the application of the science of events to Surat Al-An'am from the interpretation of Al-Alusi. It included the definition of Surat Al-An'am and a statement of its purposes. He also reviewed the relevance of Surat Al-An'am to the surahs of the Holy Qur'an that preceded it, and to Surat Al-A'raf that follows it, as well as to the surahs that begin with praise. Then he explained the occasions in the legislative and social verses and the verses of stories and giving proverbs, as well as the occasions at the end of the surah.
