Digital transformation in the example of Ankara Chamber of Commerce and analyzing the economic variables contributing to this process with causality analysis

Mankind is in the fastest and most complex process of development stages. This period is called the digital age. It has caused a rapid change in the state organization, which is an important tool for humanity to live collectively. This process, which changes the perspective and meanings we attach to the public sector and organizations, is a dynamic and constantly renewing process. In the war of increasing competition and income sharing at the global level, countries have to adapt the digitalization process and produce new technologies and take them under control. In this study, the conceptual and theoretical framework of the digitalization process has been discussed in detail and the practice of the government institutions and Türkiye has been extensively discussed over digital actions. In the application dimension, two different analyzes were carried out at the micro and macro level. In this context, on a micro scale, digitalization actions and projects of Ankara Chamber of Commerce were discussed, and evaluations were made; At the macro level, the relations between GDP, R&D expenditures and e-government usage levels were examined by country groups with Causality Analysis. The result is that there is a one-way causality relationship between GDP and R&D expenditures and the level of use of E-Government services, within the framework of Dumitrescue and Hurlin causality test. In other words, GDP (per capita income), R&D expenditures and widespread use of e-government services emerge as the determining factors. GDP per capita is the granger cause of both R&D expenditures and widespread use of e-government services.
