Abstract (EN)
This is a descriptive cross-sectional study conducted to investigate the knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of mother's children about toilet training. The study was conducted between July 2018 – February 2019 in Gaziantep Cengiz Gökçek Maternity and Child Diseases Hospital, Infant Services. The population of the study consisted of mothers with children between 18 – 36 months who were inpatient services. The sample of the study consisted of 204 mothers who had completed or completed toilet training, had no physical or mental disability, healthy children with no anomalies that could affect bladder function and anal emptying, had no communication and language problems, and volunteered to participate in the study. In order to collect data, 'Mother and Chil Identification Information Form ' and 'um Information, Attitude and Behavior Investigation Form for Mother's Children's Toilet Training Form geliştiril developed by the researcher as a result of literature review were collected by face-to-face interview method. Statistical analysis of the data obtained from the study IBM SPSS STATISTICS 22 PACKAGE PROGRAM WAS USED. The mean ± Standard deviation, median, minimum – maximum values for continuous variables and % values for categorial data were analyzed as descriptive statistics. Chis-square test was used to evaluate the relationship between categorial variables, and Kruskal Wallis H Test and Mann–Whitney U Test were used for correlation analyzes. It was seen that mother's education level, attitudes towards toilet training, working status, age and experiences affect the success of toilet training of the child. As a result; health workers should inform the mothers, especially the pediatric health and disease nurse, on tips, methods and positive attitudes that indicate mother's readiness for toilet training.
