Abstract (EN)
Many pest and diseases cause economic losses in pepper during the production season. Peach aphid Myzus persicae is one of the main pest of pepper. Polyphag is a harmful M. persicae plant by absorbing the juice and harms the plant in dense populations. In this study, it was aimed to determine the resistance of imidacloprid and acetamiprid in Myzus persicae populations selected from the selected pepper production areas in Antalya which is one of the most important pepper production areas in our country. In Antalya province total 15 populations of M. persicae were collected; 4 populations from Kumluca district, 2 populations from Elmalı district and 1 populations from Demre district. The sensitive population was obtained from Ankara Central Plant Protection Institute. Leaf dipping method was used to determine LC50 values in aphid populations. Leaf discs were formed from clean hazelnut radish leaves and dipped in doses of the insecticide concentrations prepared with the help of a forceps for 10 seconds. The dried leaf discs were placed into the petri dish with agar medium and 25 individuals were placed on the leaf discs under the binocular for each population. The LC50 values of the collected populations were compared to the LC50 values of the sensitive population and the resistance levels were determined. As a result of the study, the resistance rates of imidacloprid for Kumluca 1, Kumluca 2, Kumluca 3, Kumluca 4, Elmalı 1, Elmalı 2, Demre populations respectively 6.78, 5.52, 4.23, 6.88, 3.52, 3.26 and 3.19 times, and acetampiride resistance to 7.35, 6.80, 7.25, 6.51, 2.78, 2.72, 7.25 times. In addition, esterase enzyme which is thought to be related to imidacloprid resistance in aphid populations was investigated by kinetic and electrophoretic method. As a result of the study, esterase activities for Kumluca-1, Kumluca-2, Kumluca-3, Kumluca-4, Elmalı-1, Elmalı-2, Demre populations were 2.35, 2.38, 2.01, 2.60, 1.85, 1.95, and esterase activity for sensitive population. 1.80 mOD was found to be min-1 mg-1. According to these results, it is thought that neonicotinoid resistance may be related to esterase enzyme in aphid populations.
