Abstract (EN)
Surface sterilized mature seeds of pistachio (Pistacia vera L.) were cultured in Magenta GA-7 vessels for 2 days and irradiated by different irradiation doses using 60Co. After 14 days of culture the germinated seeds as well as LD50 level were determined. The morphological and cytological changes were also reported. All irradiaton doses evaulated had a marked effect on seed germination. A LD50 value of approximately 13.33 Gy was observed for 14 days after irradiation. This factor and the high percentage of germination (%95) obtained for the control indicate that it may be useful to select on irradiation dose lower then LD50 for the future trials.
