Sacrifice and sacricifial rituals in Ancient Greece

Greek geography has witnessed different events and phenomena since the beginning of ancient times. It included various ethnic elements within itself. It has accepted the cultures of these ethnic elements by adapting it to its own structure. This situation, the results of the social and political interaction of the Greek world, led to renewals in the basis of Greek culture. The subject of sacrifice is a phenomenon that takes place in all societies together with religious rituals. In our thesis, the sacrifice and sacrifice rituals were discussed in general and the sacrifice was mentioned in the Ancient Greek world in particular. In the first part of our thesis, which consists of two parts, the views and comparisons of the scientists who defined the victim are included. Then, in the second part, it is explained how they used religious rituals and sacrificial rituals in Ancient Greece and how this situation created the ancient Greek religions. In this way, the place and definition of sacrifice and sacrificial rituals in the Ancient Greek World has been tried to be revealed.
