A study on the cönk numbered BEL_YZ_K_0048 in Ataturk Library

Cönks, which are popularly called sığırdili (ox tongue), have a wide range of content. These written texts, which are an important source of Turkish literature, are also the carriers and transmitters of culture from the past to the future. In this respect, cönks, which have an important place, should be brought to light from dusty shelves and be the subject of research. This study consists of the examination, transcripted and comparative text of the one hundred and twenty-five leaf cönk registered to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Atatürk Library with the number Bel_Yz_K_0048. In the first part of the study, after mentioning the general characteristics of cönks such as origin, definition and importance, studies on cönks are presented to the reader under four headings. Afterwards, information was given about the shape, content and language features of the cönk that was worked on. Then, the biographies of the poets/minstrels in the work are explained. The text discussed in the second part is divided into two as poems with a certain poet and poems with an unknown poet, and the transcription of these poems is given. The text, first of all, the divans and the differences detected by comparing the studies are shown in the footnote. In addition, a dictionary and index were created based on the texts in the cönk. There are three tables and three graphs in the study. In the first table, the names of the poets, verse forms and numbers, the explanations used at the beginning of the poems are shown, and in the second table, the verse form and number of the poems whose poet is not known, followed by the explanations used at the beginning of the poems. The first graphic includes poems with or without a pseudonym, the second graphic includes verse forms used in conk, and the third graphic includes prosody and syllable meters used in cönk. In the conclusion part, there is the subject discussed, the method used, the results, and wishes.
