Risk assessment of the student laboratories of Eurasia university

Laboratory training plays a crucial role in applied education programs. Employees in these laboratories face many hazards and risks. In this study, since the laboratories of Chemistry, Dental Prosthesis, Pathology, and Medical in Avrasya University, which have been applied education and training actively, are in a very risky workplace category, according to the Occupational Health and Safety Risk Assessment issued pursuant to the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331 published in the Official Gazette dated 30 June 2012, risk assessments are expected to carry out. The purpose of this research is not only to create healthier and safer working environment, but also to protect employees from workplace injuries and diseases by subjecting the student laboratories at Avrasya University to risk assessment. Through the Checklist process, which is a method of the risk assessment, hazards were first determined by performing hazard analysis in laboratories. In the second step, the hazards and the risk associated with these hazards were assessed by using the 5x5 L Type Matrix model. The findings Unacceptable and Intermediate risks obtained in the second step have been reevaluated, and then appropriate measures have been identified to minimize them to a reasonable level of risk and some recommendations have been made on this.
