Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of biochar produced from different raw materials at the same temperature on growth and nutrient uptake of strawberry plants.Biochar produced at 400 degrees using rose pulp, apple pomace, litter under forest trees, sawdust and walnut shells were applied to the soil in two different doses. Fruit yield and dry weight of shoots as well as N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, Mn and Cu concentrations of strawberry plant grown in these soils were determined. The results showed that biochar raw materials had an effect on the properties of the product obtained but these effects were not at the same level for each parameter determined. In general, biochar applications increased nutrient content of the plant; however, some nutrient elements negatively influenced by biochar incorporation. The highest yield and manganese concentrations were obtained from apple pomace biochar. In general, the results showed that sawdust biochar has negative effects on the most of the determined parameters.Among the nutrients, iron was the most adversely affected element by biochar applications.Based on the findings obtained from the research, it is concluded that every biochar may not have the same effect in all plants, soil and climatic conditions.Generally, no significant differences were found between the application doses, and it was explained that this would require some incubation time after the biochar incorporation in order to better demonstrate the effectiveness of biochar.
