Abstract (EN)
Tobacco use ranks first among preventable causes of death worldwide and in our country. The most common form of tobacco use is smoking, which contains the substance nicotine. Nicotine elevates dopamine levels in the brain, resulting in a sense of pleasure. The majority of smokers use positive statements related to smoking behavior. Based on these findings, it is believed that there may be a correlation between smoking and emotion regulation. Smokers have reported a decrease in anxiety and anger levels during smoking. This study examines the anger levels and anger expression styles of individuals who smoke. The purpose of this study is to determine the anger levels of smokers living in Balıkesir province, and to determine the impact of smoking and being a smoker on their experienced anger and anger expression styles. No statistically significant relationship was found between smoking levels and anger or anger expression styles in the conducted study. The results are discussed within the scope of the literature.
