Abstract (EN)

Objective: In this study, it was aimed to determine the antibiotic resistance of Aeromonas sobria strains isolated from fish and determining their phylogenetic affinities. Material and Methods: In this thesis, 100 fish samples collected from İzmir region in 2023 were used for the isolation of A. sobria. The strains isolated from the samples were identified by using the VITEK-2 automated system. Kirby-Bauer Disk diffusion technique was used to determine antibiotic resistance. RAPD-PCR technique was used for genotyping of A. sobria strains. Results: In this study, 11 (11%) A. sobria strains were isolated and identified from 100 fish samples. As a result of the antibiogram, it was determined that the highest resistance developed against ampicillin and amoxicillin (90.9%), while the highest sensitivity was against enrofloxacin (72.7%). By genotyping, 11 different genotypes were determined. The phylogenetic similarities were calculated between 17% to 92%. Conclusion: By this study, the presence of A. sobria strains, which is a zoonotic agent, was revealed and the antibiotic resistance profiles of the strains were determined. The determined different resistance rates in A. sobria strains reveals the importance of choosing appropriate antimicrobial agents in the treatment of A. sobria infections. By genotyping it was determined that the A. sobria isolates were genotypically diverse.
