Abstract (EN)

In this study, some extractive components such as essential oil and phenolic profile of trunk bark, branch bark, branch wood and needle of Turkish red pine trees which hosted and non hosted Marchalina hellenica, were investigated. GC-MS was used for determination of essential oil components and HPLC was used for detection of phenolic compounds. The data obtained were evaluated with Mann Whitney U test. As a result of statistical evaluations; the ratio of β-Caryophyllene in the essential oil of the needle of red pine which hosted Marchalina hellenica, the ratios of verticillol and estragole in the essential oil of the branch woods red pine which hosted Marchalina hellenica, the ratio of junipen in the essential oil of the trunk bark of red pine which non hosted Marchalina hellenica, statistically were appeared to be higher. No statistically significant difference was found between the essential oil compositions of red pine branch bark which hosted and non hosted Marcahalina hellenica. In addition, no statistically significant difference was determined between phenolic components of trunk bark, branch bark, branch wood and needle of Turkish red pine trees which hosted and non hosted Marchalina hellenica. It was understood that the essential oil composition of the Turkish red pine was found to be effective in the host selection of the Marchalina hellenica. However, further research is needed to establish this situation with certainty. With this study, an important basis was created for future studies on the orientation to the host tree of Marchalina hellenica.
