Abstract (EN)

Total Lipid Contents and Fatty Acid Composition in Some of Hypericum Species In this study, total lipids contents and fatty acid composition of Hypericum hyssopifolium (Chaix) var microcalycinum (Boiss & Heldr), Hypericum retusum Aucher, Hypericum scabroides (Robson & Poulter), Hypericum scabrum L., Hypericum triquetrifolium Turra species have been investigated. Total lipid contents of these species were found to be between 0.1 1 and 0.35 %. After the methylation, fatty acid composition of these six species were determined by GC and GC/MS. The oils of these Hypericum species contain palmitic, linoleic and linolenic acids as the major component of faty acids. In this work, besides of the common fatty acids, three unusual 3 -OH fatty acids, (C 14:0, 3-OH; C 16:0, 3-OH ve C 18:0, 3-OH) have been dedected from Hypericum hyssopifolium (Chaix) var microcalycinum (Boiss&Heldr) and Hypericum retusum Aucher.
