Abstract (EN)

In the research, it was aimed to determine some morphological, agricultural and cytological characteristics of 49 sainfoin populations. Field trials were carried out in the experiment area of Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Field Crops. In the study, plant height, stem thickness, petiole thickness, leaf length, leaflet number per leaf, leaflet length, leaflet width in the leaf, number of inflorescences in the main stem, inflorescence length, plant fresh yield, plant hay yield, crude protein ratio, ADF ratio, NDF ratio and core DNA contents were determined. The sainfoin populations were statistically significant differences among the populations in terms of plant height, stem thickness, petiole thickness, leaf length, leaflet number, leaf leaflet length, leaflet width, number of inflorescences on the main stem, inflorescence length, plant fresh yield, plant hay yield, dry matter ratio, crude protein ratio, ADF ratio, NDF ratio and nuclear DNA content. As a result, among the sainfoin populations used in the research, there is a wide variation in terms of morphological, agricultural and cytological characteristics. It can be used as genetic material in breeding studies.
