Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to examine the effect of the Life Kinetic training program applied in Physical Education and Sports classes on balance, reaction time and attention parameters in secondary school students. 132 students (female=68, male=64) studying in the 10th grades of secondary education participated in the study voluntarily, who regularly participated in physical education and sports classes for 2 hours a week for 8 weeks. While the Life Kinetic training program was applied in physical education and sports lessons for 2 hours a week in the experimental group, the physical education and sports lesson curriculum applied in the secondary education level was adhered to in the control group. Balance, reaction time and attention scores of the experimental and control groups were made with the pre-tests at the beginning of the semester at the parameters specified within the 8-week Life Kinetic training program, and the post-test values were taken at the same parameters at the end of the semester. The data obtained in the research were evaluated in the computer environment. Three Factor Mixed ANOVA analysis was applied to investigate whether Life Kinetic training has an effect on balance, attention and reaction time performances. The primary purpose of the mixed ANOVA is to investigate whether there is an interaction between within-subject and between-subject factors on the dependent variable. In this study, the "time (pretest-posttest)" variable was the "in-subject" factor, the "group (control-experiment)" variable, and the "gender (girl-boy) variable was "between-subject" factors. Bonferroni Multiple Comparison Test was used to determine the source of difference in pre-test and post-test results. Homogeneity tests of variances were checked with Levene's test. In cases where variance homogeneity could not be achieved in the measurements, Pillai's Trace test results were given in mixed ANOVA models. If the P value was less than 0.05, the difference between the gender groups and the relationship between the variables were considered significant. As a result, when the effects of the 8-week Life Kinetic training program applied in physical education and sports classes on the balance, reaction time and attention parameters of secondary school students are examined; While balance was left foot boys, reaction right hand boys, left hand girls, reaction right and left feet both boys and girls, there was a significant difference between control and experimental groups; In the attention test, it was observed that the experimental group showed improvement in all parameters, except for learning disability, compared to the control group. Therefore, it can be said that the Life Kinetic training program has a direct effect on the parameters specified on balance, reaction time and attention.
