Abstract (EN)

Béla Bartók, one of the symbols of in the twentieth-century music, stands out as a composer who internalized elements of folk music in his own music and pursued the innovative and original. This study on Bartók's Second Violin Concerto is written to help those who will perform the work to take this special position of the composer into consideration. The study consists of five chapters. The first chapter, in which the scope, purpose and method of the study are explained, is followed by the second chapter, in which biographical information about Bartók's is presented. In the third chapter, Bartók's folk music research and his trip to Turkey in this context are discussed and relationship between these researches and the composer's production is analyzed. In the fourth chapter of the study, in order for the performer to better understand the work, the theme and form of the Second Violin Concerto are analyzed and some practice suggestions presented, which are thought to help the performer overcome the technical difficulties they will encounter. In the fifth and final part, the findings obtained from the research and analysis are shared.
