Abstract (EN)
Objective: This thesis aimed to evaluate Serum Amyloid A and Vitamin D levels in cats with leukocytosis. Material and Methods: A total of 30 cats, including leukocytosic (n=20) and healthy (n=10) cats, were included in the study. Clinical scores and serum amyloid A levels were determined in all animals. Results: In the study group cats, fSAA levels were determined to be statistically significantly higher compared to the control group (p<0.05). In contrast, no statistically significant difference was found between the two groups regarding vitamin D levels (p>0.05). Conclusion: In line with the findings, it was concluded that fSAA levels are a reliable biomarker for indicating the presence of inflammatory processes and evaluating the underlying cause of leukocytosis. Further studies with larger case groups and controlled variables are needed to more accurately assess the relationship between vitamin D levels and inflammation. Key words: cat, leukocytosis, serum amyloid A, vitamin D, inflammation
