Examination of the traditional Diyarbakir houses with form grammar method for translation of today to design language

In this study, facades of the traditional residences has been examined by shape grammar method in Sur içi region of Diyarbakır province. The architectural language analysis technique of houses in facades of traditional texture was used, which is one of the working areas of the shape grammar. It will propose that new buildings be compatible with traditional architecture in the region. In this respect, the study; It shows that the relations that define the traditional texture and the design criteria to be obtained can be possible based on the rules and the relations between the elements.
