Strategic planning of information systems and a research in Zeytinoğlu Holding Company

In order to realise the general strategies of the corporation as an action improving the information systems provides contribution to the corporation itself. Improving the information systems among those corporate goals demand on development of strategic plans. With this main idea, this study consists basic approachs of development of information systems as well as determination of strategies through the planning process. In the first part, with a general definition of "information" as a term, the requirement to the information in a corporation has been mentioned. In the same part it is also underlined that information has strategic importance and advantages. The second part is about the definition of information systems whereas the point of view of top management to the subject. In the third part the strategic planning phase of information systems has been introduced. The methods, which have been used to determine the information systems strategies are also declared in this part. The final part is related to the facilities done by Zebim (Zeytinoglu Holding Computer Department) in order to develop the structure of Zeytinoglu Group's Information systems under the assumption of strategic planning process.
