The effect of the computer aided physics education students' success and attitudes

The aim of this study is to compare computer-aided education with conventional regular instruction education in increasing the students? success and attitude towards Science Course. The study has been done in 2008-2009 Autumn Term. The sample of the study is constituted to 62 of I. grade students Sarıyer Girl Technical ve Vocational High School, İstanbul, Sarıyer. The sample of the study is randomly divided into two groups as experimental and control group. The conventional regular instructed education is used in control group but computer-aided education is used in experimental group. The pre-test and post-test control group research design is used in the study. The Physics Test which determines their backgrounds about Physics and the scale which determines their attitudes towards Physics are applied on students. After application, the Physics Test is applied as a post-test to see and to compare the effects of the education with conventional regular instructed education about the Force and Motion on students? success. And also, the scale determines students? attitudes towards Physics is applied as a post-test to see the effects of the computer-aided education and conventional regular instructed education on students? attitudes towards Physiscs. The statistic science is used to test the hypothesises of the study. And, it has been seen that both groups have no meaningful differences about attitudes towards Physics. In addition, although at the beginning of the study there are no meaningful differences between the students who have computer-aided education and those who have conventional regular instructed education, a meaningful difference occured among the groups at the end of the study.
