Use of institutional web pages as a public relation tool: A comparasion between foundation and state universities

ABSTRACT In the 21st century, both private and public institutions closely follow the requirements of the era as the information society. In today's society, state institutions understand the importance of this. Therefore, in order to provide better service to the citizens and to reach the level of the modern age states, our country also 3the necessary efforts. One of the best indicators of this is the importance given to public relations. In the competitive market environment developing in private enterprises, they have to make use of the requirements of the age in order to keep up with the competition and to keep their organizations alive. One of the conditions that have become a necessity is the use of public relations tools on the web pages of the private sector. In this research, corporate web pages of intitutions and private institutions in Turkey, public relations purposes usages characterictics is discussed. For this purpose, the web pages of public and private institutions recgnition and promotions activities can be considered in terms of some features using content analysis https://istatistik.yok.gov.tr/ page access to the internet link given by 50 state üniversites and systematic random sampling method 50 the web pages of foundations were examined acording to the criteria specified in the coding table. The data obtained as a result of this research revealed that state and foundations institutions use comparative web pages as a public relations tools.
