Examining of the relationship between disfunctional beliefs related health, anxiety and depressions of individuals during pandemic period

Throughout human history, regional and global problems such as various epidemics, pandemics, economic crises and natural disasters have been experienced. In response to these problems, civilizations and states have struggled in economic, political and social fields in order to protect their people and at the same time to maintain their own existence. The struggles were insufficient at some points, the causes of some events could not be fully resolved, and in some cases, human beings were desperate. Like these epidemics and pandemics in the past, the corona virus has also changed the way individuals live. These changes have led to uncertainty, unpredictability and uncertainty in individuals. These situations triggered the feelings of individuals such as stress, anxiety, fear and depression. In the study, a web-based questionnaire method was applied to 377 participants aged 18 and over living in Mugla, determined by the method of simple random samples. The Health Cognition Scale was used to measure the participants' dysfunctional belief levels related health, the Health Anxiety Scale to measure their anxiety levels, and the Beck Depression Scale to measure the depression levels. The data were analyzed with the SPSS 22 package program using statistical analysis method. According to the findings; ıt has been determined that there is a significant relationship between individuals' dysfunctional beliefs related health, health anxiety and depression, and these conditions differ according to gender. In addition, it was concluded that individuals' depressions differ according to their age, marital status, place of residence, economic status, profession and having children. It has been found that the anxiety levels of individuals differ according to their economic status and occupation status. Based on the findings of this research on social work, it is thought to be useful in terms of laying the groundwork for possible future research and providing information about the epidemic to future generations.
