Abstract (EN)

The aim of the study was to examine the presence of chronic pain in individuals visit to primary care physiotherapy services and the correlation of chronic pain with biopsychosocial characteristics, mood and physical activity levels of individuals. The study included 61 individuals (age: 46.95±10.15 years) who visits to primary care physiotherapy services and had persistent or recurrent pain lasting longer than three months. Participants' chronic pain status was evaluated with the Central Sensitization Scale (CSS), their biopsychosocial status was evaluated with the Cognitive Exercise Therapy Approach Biopsychosocial Scale(BETY-BQ), their mood was evaluated with the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) and their physical activity level was evaluated with the International Physical Activity Questionnaire Short Form (IPAQ-SF). It was observed that chronic pain status was strongly associated with biopsychosocial characteristics and mood (CCS/BETY-BQ r:0,82, CCS/HADS-Anxiety r:0,71 SSÖ/HADS-Depression r:0,65, BETY-BQ/HAD-Anxiety r:0,66 BETY-BQ/HADS-Depression r:0,70 HADS-Anxiety/HADS-Depression r:0,71 p<0,01). There was no direct relationship between chronic pain status and physical activity level of individuals (CCS/IPAQ-SF p:0,30). It was seen that %45,9 were inactive, %49,2 were minimally active and %4,9 were very active when the physical activity characteristics of the participants were examined. The findings supported the versatility of chronic pain. As a result of the study, we think that chronic pain management should be included in the treatment plan of individuals, taking into account the factors associated with chronic pain, in the creation of the treatment plan of individuals with chronic pain who visit to primary physiotherapy services.
