Abstract (EN)

Economic imbalances between regions in our country as well as in worldwide countries have become ever-growing a problem but cannot be solved yet. In order to eliminate these differences developments plans have been made in each period and a number of measures were taken, though it has not been sufficiently effective. In recent years, technological developments and increased travel opportunities arising have made human mobility and tourism attractive. This activity occurred in tourism has also brought economic mobility with itself. In this study, the development of tourism in Mardin, how it affected economic activities in the province and how it is reflected in the region's economy have been investigated. In this context, to determine the views of the managers of the tourism certified hotels in Mardin selected with random sampling method, A questionnaire was applied to 119 executives. Managers have reported a positive opinion on the topic that development of tourism in Mardin affects employment directly and even Mardin the need for the labour force from neighbouring provinces in peak season In case of reduction in tourism, It is seen that all other economic sectors in both neighbouring provinces and Mardin province has negatively affected. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the importance of Mardin's language, culture and faith tourism in economic development Especially Mardin's history and cultural wealth needs more introductions for the development of tourism.
