Reserch on usability of limestones of Kağilcik location, Yeşilova, Burdur as marble

In this thesis study, samples are taken from Kağılcık and characteristic features are determined in laboratory, to determine usability of Kağılcık Limestones, Yeşilova, Burdur as marble. With weight per unit of volume of 2,75 gr/ cm3 and specific weight of 2,77, it could be used as coating and flooring in accordance with TS 699. As it has water imbitation ratio of 0,34, it shows that it could be used indoor or outdoor in accordance with TS 2513. Durability after freeze shows that it could be used in every region in accordance with TS 10449. Uniaxial compressive strength of 80,24 MPa and bending rigidity of 91,05 kg/cm2 shows it is durable against loading and bending. As a result of these, it could be used both in column coating and stairs safely.As a result, the limestones that are observed in Kağılcık location, Yeşilova, Burdur, which are within the formation called as Taşkesiği Formation by previous surveyors, aged between Mid Trias-Upper Jurassic, has high block efficiency, is in marble limestones class due to physical, chemical and mechanical characteristics an it meets minimum and maximum values in related TS standards.
