Abstract (EN)
The research was conducted with aim to investigate adaptation capability of eighteen hybrid silage dent corn cultivars at Burdur, Western Mediterranean Passage Region, conditions, of Turkey during 2019 and 2020 years. The experiment was set up according to the Randomized Complete-Block Design with three replicates. Differences among the cultivars in term of examined characteristics except for the first year number of ear were statistically (P≤0.05 ve P≤0.01) significant in both years. The dry matter ratio 30.3-40.0 %, 31.7-41.0 %, plant height 255.1-346.1 cm, 305.2-378.2 cm, stem thickness 16.1-19.9 mm, 17.5-21.6 mm, leaf number 12.9-15.2 number plant-1, 13.3-15.6 number plant-1, number of ear 1.00-1.13 number plant-1, 1.00-1.20 number plant-1, herbage yield 8593.5-12922.8 kg da-1, 9330.2-13957.0 kg da-1, leaf weight 172.0-280.3 g plant-1, 185.3-298.3 g plant-1, stem weight 419.9-729.3 g plant-1, 449.3-785.3 g plant-1, ear weight 396.0-515.7 g plant-1, 422.0-584.0 g plant-1, leaf/stem ratio 29.7-43.9 %, 29.3-44.8 %, leaf/plant ratio 14.2-18.9 %, 14.1-19.1 %, stem/plant ratio 33.6-43.4 %, 33.7-43.6 % and stem/plant ratio 40.3-48.0 %, 40.0-48.0 % of corn cultivars between varied in 2019-2020 years . The highest herbage yield was determined DKC7240 cultivar, while and the lowest Antex variety in both years. It was determined that leaf number, leaf weight, stem weight and stem thickness of DKC7240 variety with high herbage yield for silage was higher than the other varieties. As a result, DKC7240 cultivar is recommended in the Burdur ecological conditions.
