Abstract (EN)
The research was carried out in 2019 to investigate the possibilities of growing baby corn and fresh sweet corn as a second crop of Burdur conditions. The experiment was set up in a randomized complete block design with 3 replications using sweet corn varieties "Argos, Batem Tatlı, Bond, Calipos, Khan, Mirza, SF1280 and Vega F1". In the study, the baby corn harvest was between 50-76. Days and fresh cob harvest 84-90. days. In terms of the characteristics examined in baby corn cultivation, Silking time, baby corn length, diameter, weight, yield and number of baby corn were measured between 53.0-58.1 days, 9.8-18.6 cm, 16.3-18.6 mm, 16.9-22.5 g, 191.9-342.3 kg da-1 and 10618.7-21110.3 number da-1, respectively. For fresh corn, the corn length, diameter, number of seed per cop, weight, yield and number of fresh corn were measured between 22.0 mm, 43.6-50.3 mm, 515.6-750.4 number per cop, 201.1-315.4 g, 1350.2-2021.0 kg da-1 and 10384.5-10732.0 number da-1, respectively. According to the results of the correlation analysis in fresh corn, ear length showed a significant and positive effect on grain yield in the first place, followed by the number of kernels per cob, number of ears per decare, weight and diameter, respectively. According to the results of the study, it was concluded that Mirza, SF1280, Vega and Argos F1 cultivars as fresh corn and Vega F1 cultivars are recommended as fresh corn, considering the ear characteristics, yield and number of ears per decare in the second crop conditions in Burdur.
