Abstract (EN)
This research is carried out to multidimensionally analyse teachers' remarks on Whole Brain Teaching Approach regarding academic discipline, class management, social domain and if there is, to contribute determining teachers' inadequacy of using this approach and find the reasons behind it. This study is also important since there wasn't any other research that is done to understand teachers' thoughts and adequateness about Whole Brain Teaching Approach. It is also aimed to expand awareness about the subject by pointing out the importance of this approach. In this research it is aimed to determine that if the primary school teachers' remarks on the effectiveness of Whole Brain Teaching may differ statistically at a significant level according to position, age, seniority and educational background. Population consists of 16 administrators, 130 class teachers and 66 in-field teachers with a total number of 212 that work for Bilfen Primary Schools , appurtenant to the Ministry of Education and located on the Anatolian side of Istanbul, in 2015-16 Educational year. The total number of population was reached. The measurement tool that is used consists two parts. The first part is prepared to determine the demographic features of the participants, it is the Personal Information Form that consists 4 questions to determine the participant's position, age, seniority and educational background. The second part, in order to find out the teachers' point of view about the effectiveness of Whole Brain Teaching Approach, consists of 46 questions to measure the perceptions, "About the effects of Whole Brain Teaching Approach to the academic field", "About the effects of Whole Brain Teaching Approach to the discipline and class management", "About the effects of Whole Brain Teaching Approach to the social field". The survey was created, by doing a literature review, in accordance with Likert Scale adding the options "Never"(1), "Rarely"(2), "Occasionally"(3), "Frequently"(4) and "Very Frequently"(5). According to the results of the research, the Post Graduate teachers have higher expectations about the effectiveness of Whole Brain Teaching Approach. The teachers who have the chance to closely observe the students find the approach more effective compared to the administrators and in-field teachers. Teachers that have seniority of 11 years and teachers that are older than 30 find the approach more effective compared to the others.
