Investigation of Yuksel Arslan and his works in contemporary Turkish painting art

This research includes the subject of "Investigation of Yüksel Arslan and His Works in Contemporary Turkish Painting Art". The research was limited to the years that Yüksel Arslan lived and the life of Yüksel Arslan, his understanding of art and his works were examined by rendering them in the axis of his contemporaries within the historical development of Turkish painting. Books, journals, articles and theses written about Yüksel Arslan's personal life and art were examined by literature review. The purpose of the research is to examine the art movement in Turkey during his lifetime and to study Arslan's life, education, works, understanding of art, the difference between him and his contemporaries within the framework of the artistic and socio-political developments. Yüksel Arslan is an artist who came to the fore with his original surrealist works in Turkish painting. The fact that the artist preferred to study Art History instead of going to the Fine Arts Academy, the environment in which he spent his childhood and the books he read had an important role in creating his works of expressionist inspirations. The artist developed his own technique by researching Anatolian civilizations, traditional folk arts. The artist, who began to live in Paris since 1961, was admired by the art critics of the time. Influenced by the art of miniature, he practiced sexuality which is not in the traditional art with phallic symbols and the features of the tradition of portrayal and embroidery. In the research, it was determined that the artist, who developed his own style by stylizing the figures he made, produced another language related to the psychological, intellectual existence and world politics of humanity by being inspired from the books he read and produced original works similar to which were not seen in contemporary Turkish painting art.
