Modern art work in symbol, form and perception axis in our age

The natural curiosity of human, his interest to new and unknown, his desire to discover, his thoughts for future and being in an on-going search for spiritual life require him to question his life. Giving shape by resizing symbols in art and awareness of spectators form the basis of the research. Signs, symbols and images that are the parts of belief system of humankind contain a hidden truth. In this respect, art has been the field in which symbols are most used. Especially symbols that are used in religion and mythology are not only hidden codes to be transferred to next centuries but also a way for artist to express himself. In contemporary art of conceptual works the prominent object symbolizes the idea and form that artist want to express. Formation process and the developmental stages of symbols have changed the point of view to art painting. The purpose of this study is to examine the modern art in terms of symbols; their usage, development, function and perception in today's art. In addition, this study not only sheds light on the history and position of symbols in terms of form and perceptin but also examines the birth of conceptual and its change through the examples of artists. In the evolving process of symbols from past to present; their existence, the way they are presented, how they shape today's art has been emphasized. Starting from the ancient ages, how they move from normal life to art, how they are interpreted, what they are sources of and what they nourish are evaluated.
