Abstract (EN)

The concept of ?responsibility?, which firstly has been emerged as a necessity of social life, has modified and emerged as a ?social responsibility? concept in recent years, by enlarging of its? dimensions and impacts due to the changed conditions. So, the ?social responsibility? concept is an important concept which the firms should particularly take into consideration today. In this study, the social responsibility of firms has been evaluated by four dimensions approach, which examines the social responsibilities with its? economic, legal, ethical and philanthropic components; and there examined the ipmact of employees? perceptions of these components on their organizational commitments. The research study has been realized on white collar employees of one of the large scale firms? in Azerbaijan. The results of this research study show that if the employees? perceptions of their firm?s legal, ethical and philantropic responsibilities are positive, it will positively affect their commitments to the firm. So, there may be said that, employees will consider themselves more valuable due to the being employee of a socially responsible firm and will try to do their best at their jobs. One of the important point of the research results is about the employees? perceptions of their firm?s legal responsibilities, which emerged as the most significant impact on their organizational commitments, despite expecting the relatively higher impact of firm?s philanthropic responsibilities according to the some research results on the similar topic. This result may be due to the employees? perceptions regarding to the firms? tendency to give up or not fulfill their social responsibilities in case there are some legal regulation gaps. But in order to do the exact evaluation on this point, the employees? perceptions of firm?s legal responsibilities and it?s impact on the organizational committment should be analysed in depth. Finally, in order to generalize this research?s results, it is suggested to realize the research on many other firms? employees within different industries too. Furthermore, there can be said that, the impact of employees? perceptions of firm?s social responsibilities on their organizational commitments can be analysed the more clearly by taking into consideration the other possible important factors, such as job satisfaction, organizational culture etc., which may affect the employees? organizational commitments simultaneously.
