Abstract (EN)

Existing earthquake regulations used in Turkey such as DBYBHY 2007 and TS648 (Steel Construction and Construction Rules) are not insufficient in terms of design of steel structures and it's necessary to refer to the relevant standards of many other countries while designing those projects. This gap in Turkish regulations let to drafting and development of specific and comprehensive regulations on designing steel structures which named as "2018 Turkish Earthquake Regulation on Buildings Regulations". With the introduction of this rule in 2018, it is expected that uncertainties regarding steel structures will be eliminated. In this study, steel structures were analyzed and designed in accordance with the "2018 Turkish Earthquake Regulation on Buildings Regulations" principles. For the analysis and design of structures, a computer program based on the matrix displacement method was prepared and analyzed in accordance with the Load and Strength Coefficients Design (LRFD) and Safety Coefficients and Design specified in the regulations. The results of the design obtained using both methods were investigated and methods were compared.
