Abstract (EN)

Antibiotics are drugs that are used in the treatment of bacterial infections, widely used in veterinary medicine and encountered with their residues in food value animals. Antibiotics are also used especially in animals as disease preventive, improver or yield enhancer. The components and metabolites of antibiotic drugs and various chemicals that emerge in animal tissues and products consumed as food by human with excessive and improper use are called residues. Antibiotic residues adversely affect human health. The use of antibiotics without a prescription and use in excess of the appropriate dosage, additionally the continuous usage for a long period cause residues. Among antibiotics, tetracycline group is highly preferred due to its wide spectrum, cheapness and easy accessibility. Oxytetracycline, tetracycline, chlortetracycline and doxycycline, which are among the drugs in the tetracycline group, are frequently used in the sector in our country and in the world. In this study, fast, economical and environmentally friendly capillary electrophoresis (CE) and HPLC methods were developed for the determination of oxytetracycline, tetracycline, chlortetracycline and doxycycline residues of tetracycline group antibiotic drugs. The developed methods were validated according to ICH rules and their recovery values were also calculated. The developed methods have been successfully applied to commercially available raw milk, beef, chicken meat and chicken egg samples. The residue fact of the tetracycline was determined by finding the residue values of 46 beef, 42 chicken meat and 102 chicken eggs collected from the market and evaluated in terms of food safety and human health.
