Abstract (EN)
Translation plays a crucial role in transferring knowledge across generations. This is particularly true for literary works, where the content itself is important, but how that content is expressed also brings the language to the forefront. As the language used in different works varies, cultures also shift, which can weaken communication between them. Whether in written or spoken form, translation is essential for effective intercultural communication. Abdülhak Şinasi Hisar is considered as one of the most important writers in Turkish literature. Hisar portrays the culture and period in which he lived with exquisite detail, especially in his work Boğaziçi Mehtapları. In this study, examples from Abdülhak Şinasi Hisar's Boğaziçi Mehtapları were translated and analyzed in light of relevant translation theories, followed by an evaluation of the translation.
