The evaluation of online homework in terms of prior success self-efficacy responsibility motivation and academic success

In this study, it is aimed at analyzing online homework performances of the students in Higher School of Foreign Languages in terms of their prior success, self-efficacy beliefs, perceived responsibility, motivation and academic success. The study was conducted with mixed method approach. In the quantitative aspect of the study in order to determine the relationship between the variables structural equation modelling (SEM) was used, in the qualitative aspect, interview technique was used. Quantitative data were analyzed with SmartPLS program and the results were reported, qualitative data were analyzed with content analysis method. As a result of the study, with the analysis of the quantitative data it was concluded that there is no statistically significant relationship between students' prior success and online homework performances, self-efficacy beliefs and perceived responsibility and there is no statistically significant relationship between students' online homework performances and their self-efficacy beliefs, perceived responsibility, motivation and academic success. It was concluded that there is a statistically significant relationship between students' self-efficacy beliefs and their perceived responsibility and academic success. According to the findings obtained with the analysis of the qualitative data, students' prior success is effective on students' online homework performances, self-efficacy beliefs and perceived responsibility. Similarly, students' online homework performances are effective on their self-efficacy beliefs, perceived responsibility, academic success and motivation. According to the analysis of the students'views about self-efficacy beliefs, in general having high self-efficacy beliefs are effective on other variables. According to the analysis of students'views about perceived responsibility and motivation, it was concluded that students think that they are more successful when they have high levels of motivation and perceived responsibility.
