Abstract (EN)
This study entitled "Forensic Document Examination under the Criminal Procedure Law? focuses on the framework of the forgery and counterfeiting on documents, proof of the evidence on forged documents and expertise of Forensic Document Examiners. This study also analyses how to investigate forged documents and variety of counterfeiting.In the study, the security features of official documents are discussed and pictured along with the forged documents in order to guide the security and justice personnel. Examining handwritings and signatures is one of the most common problems on document examinations. Thus, the methods of taking comparison handwriting and signatures are also explained in this study.In this thesis, legal and technical problems encountered in document examination are addressed and recommendations which are reflected by the data are presented.Keywords: Evidence, Proof, Document Examination, Forensic Document Examiners, Expert Witness, Graphology and Fraud.
