Investigating relationship between sexist and aggressive behaviors and legitimation of domestic violence

A descriptive screening examination undertaken the look of relationship between sexist and aggressive behaviors and legitimation of abuse against women. This research is a descriptive study using the relational model. A total of 767 adults of Istanbul participated who picked randomly. The analyzed data collected via three scales entitled "Content Domains for Justification of Physical Wife Abuse Scale", "Ambivalent Sexism Scale", and "Aggression Questionnaire". Ambivalent sexism subscales has significant effect on the dependent variable legitimation of domestic violence. Scores were investigated according to participants' exposure to violence, having witnessed violence, level of education and gender. Aggression scale results have significant effect on dependent and independent variables. SPSS 21 program used to analyze. The data which obtained to determine the differentiation by gender were analyzed with independent groups't test. The dependent variable legitimation of domestic violence has significant effect on ambivalent sexism variable.
