A research on cartoon's words

One of the students' vocabulary acquisition directly affect the broadcast media are also cartoons. In this study, aimed to the students examining the vocabulary factors to determine the contribution to the development of students' vocabulary of cartoons most watched by primary school students and compare these vocabulary elements of elementary school students with their vocabulary. Work, between 2014-2015 studying in a primary school in Istanbul, 1-4. in the range of age classes including each grade level of 75 students for a total of 300 students "Most Viewed identified cartoon form" distributed is made. In the study, from every part of the 10 cartoons selected by the students following the five-minute sections of 3,000 words it was taken from each cartoon. Thus, a total of 30,000 words were created a list of from the 10 cartoons. In this working, document analysis and categorical content analysis method was used. The elements of vocabulary, vocabulary, idioms, proverbs, repetitions, words and slang words have been examined in the pattern category. Proper names are also shown. Operations was made taking into account the criteria set for Baş's (2011) vocabulary research. Words have meaning not only in terms of examining also in shape. Numbers and dates are also expressed in the article is considered as a word. While keyword analysis is made, a separate joint written words, numbers and dates are composed of more than one word with "+"; idioms with "#"; names with "*" marked. Removing apostrophes in text ,adds shooting, negation of the words, adjectives and verbs which attachments are deleted except for permanent name. Co-voice words and fitting words are indicated by descriptions. The words derived from the same root word in the list have been collected and interpreted and analyzed. In the study, after the transaction, 27.946 vocabulary element was obtained. This vocabulary elements of 424 idiom, 4 proverb, 72 doublings, 205 said mold, 4 slang words, 1592 is a special name. It was found to be common 1,916 diffirent words compared to vocabulary elements in the cartoons and primary school students. In this case vocabulary elements in the cartoons have seen coincide with student's vocabulary items. Key Words: Vocabulary Elements, Cartoons, Words.
