Families of individuals with a diagnosis of attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder in childhood and adolescence in the determination of the level of hopelessness and optimism

Clinical applications of induced mental problems in childhood and adolescence, which is the highest incidence of attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). İn the care and treatment of ADHD, biopsychosocial families of the states to take a holistic approach increases the effectiveness of treatment and the quality of care. In this study, childhood and adolescence in families of individuals with a diagnosis of ADHD was to determine the level of hopelessness and optimism. Work in the years 2022-2023, Ankara City Hospital, Children's Hospital, Child and Adolescent Mental Health and diseases in the outpatient clinic was conducted with 400 families of individuals with ADHD. The study was cross-sectional, descriptive and relationship seeker has a design of nature. Data 'Aggregate demographic information Form', 'Beck Hopelessness Scale' and 'the Life Orientation Test' usewere collected using. Management and analysis in IBM SPSS Statistics 24 used the program package named. The findings 95% confidence interval and a significance level of p<0.05 rated. Findings from the study, according to the despair of parents and optimism levels of determining of families in the hopelessness and optimism in relation to the effect of different variables on the demographic characteristics have been demonstrated. Beck hopelessness points respondents an average of 6.46 ± 4.56 and Optimism, Life Orientation Test points, an average of 20.67 ± 4.22 were found. As a result of the study, the mean scores between optimism and despair of families moderate negative significant correlation (r =-0,519, p<0.001) were found. The height of the educational level of parents of individuals with ADHD, factors such as the increase of the level of income and work at any job, to increase the level of optimism, was found to reduce the level of hopelessness. ADHD in the care and treatment of families and social and psychological health policy must be supported by training programs to be developed.
